Receiver types for the FAL/Sten 9mm  conversion.

There are several receivers available at this time for the FAL/Sten conversion. I have identified all the current ones available and any problems or deviations needed for the conversion.

Williams Aluminum receiver, Combat Elite. Not yet tried but it should work perfect as is.

Williams Aluminum receiver, alumilite. Not yet tired but it should work fine, we will try one soon. WARNING, we did break one of these in the 45acp covnersions.

DSA, All brands. Not tried but they should work fine. Set the standard for quality.

Entreprise. Avoid these.

Coonan/FAC, these work great. No issues to date.

Hesse/Century/Vulcan cast receivers. These all suffer from a couple problems. The first is the mag wells are a little too tight and may need to be widend with a DREMMEL or mill. Also various other small problems such as mislocated mag catch screw holes can cause a headace but are overal great and very robust receivers.

Imbel, lately these have had quality problems such as tight mag wells and other small cosmetic problems. They are overall a very good receiver but expect to do some fitting with the mag well area.
